Co-op car dealer rebrand
October 29th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
SUNWIN Motors has been rebranded The Co-operative Motor Group, in a big change for the retail group.
It’s part of a winder £1.5 billion rebranding for Co-op: the largest in UK corporate history.
This will see all the firm’s 5000 businesses given a closer family association – which is why the Group’s £237 million car dealer business has been given the makeover.
The first to get this is Sunwin’s Renault car dealer in Preston. All dealers in the group will have been given the new branding within three months.
But it does mean the loss of Sunwin across the Midlands and the North. MD of Co-operative Motor Group, Mike Austin, praised Sunwin’s ‘hard work to establish a trusted reputation.’
This, he hopes, will be enhanced by the Co-operative Group’s big relaunch – ‘financial performance of The Co-operative Group is stronger than ever as is trust in our brand.’
In case you didn’t already realise, the Co-op is not just about food and cars. The business encompasses:
• Food
• Funerals
• Travel
• Pharmacy
• Financial services
• Legal services
