Citroen reveals DS4
August 31st, 2010 by Richard Aucock
CITROEN has revealed the production ready look of its new DS4 which it hopes will take on Audi’s A3 Sportback.
The 5-door ‘crossover coupe’ family hatch is the latest variant in the ‘posh Citroen’ DS range.
It will be shown in public for the first time at this month’s Paris Motor Show, prior to arriving in Citroen dealer showrooms some time later in 2011.
Based on the Citroen C4, the new 5-seat, 5-door hatch uses the same range of engines, including a 200bhp 1.6-litre turbo petrol. It will also feature e-HDi second generation stop-start technology.
Packed with posh trims, including 5 different leather colours and colour-changing dials, the super posh motor is just as flash outside: it gets LED lights front and rear, plus the option of 19 inch alloys.
Despite its radical looks though, Citroen says the rear is roomy and it still packs a commodious 370-litre boot.
Car Dealer Magazine looks forward to getting more details of the cool Citroen DS4 in time; dealers, meanwhile, will be keen to see how the firm develops the ‘First-Class Service’ FreeDrive promise.
This guarantees customers will get a full valet every time their car visits the dealer, plus the option of home pickup and a guaranteed courtesy car during servicing.
Already seen on the DS3, we’re interested to hear from Citroen dealers on how this is developing.
