Citroen’s used boost
March 21st, 2009 by Richard Aucock
CITROEN’S brand rejuvenation is continuing, as the maker launches a new initiative for used car sales.
Following on from its recent new car rejig, the same overhaul is being applied to the used car network, under the Citroen Select banner.
This, says the company, will boost used car sales for car dealers.
The aim is to increase car dealers’ share of used car sales compared to new sales – which will boost dealer profitability.
Under the Citroen Select banner, the company is enhancing the proposition to customers, including extending the warranty period for Citroens older than seven years.
The company has been able to do this thanks to progressively improving reliability and build standards.
It is also going to communicate all the benefits better with customers. Finance and leasing options will be highlighted, and the benefits of additional services such as warranties, plus servicing and maintenance contracts, outlined with more clarity.
Other benefits include a free initial inspection and Europe-wide breakdown recovery package.
Citroen is to develop a centralised management structure to implement the new strategy. This will give car dealers new tools and working practices, which are due to be rolled out soon.
