Chevrolet’s best sales
June 5th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
CHEVROLET sold 1589 cars in May – its best figure since the brand was launched nearly 5 years ago.
This equals to a market share of 1.18 percent. Which is up 40 percent on May 2008!
‘Fabulous news,’ said UK MD Mark Terry.
‘To buck the overall trend of the new car market at all is an achievement – to do it at this level is unprecedented.’
The maker’s best-selling model remains its most aged: the micro Matiz. This could be frustrating to Chevrolet car dealers, but proves the models and deals drawing customers in.
A post-scrappage sticker price of £4295 appears to have been key.
Or was it? More than half of May’s Chevrolet says were registered BEFORE the scrappage was introduced…
