Owners switch to indys

POSH car owners are switching to smaller independent garages to service their expensive motors.
The Good Garage Scheme has just carried out a survey – and discovered that, from searches carried out on its website, BMW tops the brands searched for!
Thousands of BMW drivers conducted a postcode search to find cost-conscious garages local to them. And that’s not the only premium car maker brand in the top searches total…
1. BMW
2. Volkswagen
3. Ford
4. Audi
5. Mercedes
Anndi Sheppard from the Good Garage Scheme said that the survey reveals ‘how people who might be feeling the pinch of the credit crunch are looking for an alternative to taking their car to a dealer, without having to compromise on the quality of workmanship.
‘Motorists are increasingly using the Good Garage Scheme website not only to find their nearest independent garage, but are refining their searches to find garages that know specifically about their make and model of car.’
The self-regulatory scheme says over 12,000 customer feedback forms are received each month, assessing the standards of independent garages nationwide.
This information is used to create a ‘five star’ rating system on the scheme’s website, which ranks the 2600-plus members to help maintain high standards.
