Toyota dealers take 2000
TOYOTA dealers are celebrating after advance orders for the all-new eco Prius topped the 2000 mark.
The car is now officially on sale – but the waiting list remains hefty, as demand for the all-new electric hybrid gears up.
What’s more, reckons the firm, one in 10 of those orders has come through scrappage. Which means the trade-in of ‘old, dirty models for the world’s cleanest family car.’
It’s the cars that have been crushed which have caught our eye, though. New Prius owners have scrapped a huge variety of cars, including:
• Fiat Tipo
• Nissan Sunny
• Jaguar Sovereign
• Mercedes SL
Toyota reckons it’s benefitting from a series of pre-launch campaigns with customers. This has prompted more than 3000 people in the UK to drive it already. It’s hoping for a further boost from the new ‘Follow Me’ ad campaign.
Leading to more good times for Toyota car dealers?
