January 25th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
ONLINE car dealer carsite.co.uk has appointed Sir Trevor Chinn as chairman as it starts big growth plans.
The former Lex Service plc chairman has also invested in the company
In taking on the role, Sir Trevor pointed to a change in the dynamic of car retail. ‘Carsite.co.uk is at the forefront of a dynamic shift in the used car market from forecourt to online.
‘The developing landscape and technological capabilities of the internet continue to create exciting new business opportunities for this sector.
‘I’m very much looking forward to combining my experience with their innovative, process driven and cost saving approach.’
MD of the ex-fleet car dealer, Douglas Rotberg, added that ‘We have embarked on a significant new chapter in 2010 and Sir Trevor’s arrival helps signal our direction and intent.
‘It goes without saying, his vast experience and understanding of both sides of our business will prove invaluable as we mature the Carsite brand.’
Alongside his new role, Sir Trevor will continue to chair the Mayor’s Fund for London, and also the Government’s Motorists’ Forum.
That’s not all for carsite.co.uk either, reveals Rotberg. Sales were up 109 percent last year, which will be a good springboard for further senior appointments he has promised in the coming weeks.
