HENDY Group director Steve Hendy is to enter his local rally event THIS WEEKEND in Bournemouth.

He is in with a chance of success too – the Hendy Group chief is pretty handy behind the wheel.

He’s already won TWO national titles, and is taking his Ford Focus WRC to the gravel special stages on the Sunseeker Rally this weekend.

Co-driver Davies and Hendy will tackle a packed day of rally action which includes high speed stages in the grounds of Somerley House and Ringwood forests on the Hamsphire/Dorset border.

‘This is our first event of the year,’ said Hendy, ‘so we really looking forward to blowing away the cobwebs and hopefully setting some good times.

‘The Sunseeker is my local event so it’s always a good one to support.’ And his aims? A top 5 finish would do him… the former champ said testing time has been tight before the rally, which may make for some interesting lines on the high speed tests.

The rally gets underway with a parade at Poole Quay on Friday evening before rally action on Saturday.
