Car dealer quadruples
HARRATTS Nissan Sheffield has quadrupled its sales in 2009 and outperformed every other Harratts dealer.
The dealer, which opened in January 2008, recorded a massive 427 percent rise in sales for 2009.
Impressive stuff, said the firm’s directors, given how the UK car industry has contracted by 6 percent in the same period.
Shaun Harratt, MD of Harratts, said ‘We are thrilled to announce the sales results for our Sheffield Nissan dealership today and to confirm how significant the growth, particularly in new cars, has been.
‘In light of the severe contraction in the UK car industry, these results are all the more impressive and I would like to thank the staff at Nissan Sheffield for their determination to provide the very best customer care and service.’
Sales for the Nissan Note were particularly impressive, rising four-fold, while the Micra supermini went up by 350 percent.
‘To post a 400 per cent increase in sales in the face of the worst recession for a generation is impressive indeed,’ added Harratt, ‘and we look forward to further growth over the coming year.’
It’s certainly thrilled Harratts Nissan Sheffield general manager Richard Hayton. ‘Whilst we are pleased to see our other dealerships performing so well, I am particularly pleased that Nissan Sheffield grew more than any other Harratts dealership over 2009.
‘The government’s scrappage scheme has definitely helped the car industry find its feet but we believe our commitment to staff training will ensure that we continue to post excellent sales results year after year.’
