Dealer launches Report
July 16th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
TOP car dealer Clive Sutton has unveiled a unique publication on the state of the luxury car market.
The St. John’s Wood car dealer has been working on the report for the past few months, after what he describes as the industry’s ‘biggest upheaval in decades’.
Many car dealers will be only too aware of the dramatic price rises and falls of recent years. ‘Nowhere were the implications of this plunge more sorely felt that the premium car arena’, said Sutton.
This has led him to share his direct experience of the goings-on with car buyers and dealers alike.
In the report, which can be downloaded from the car dealer’s website, Sutton looks into the fortunes of five brands:
• Aston Martin
• Bentley
• Ferrari
• Porsche
• Rolls-Royce
He takes the key models from each mark, and analyses how they have faired in the market over the past few years.
This includes analysis of the cars’ development, a look into common problem areas, plus the best and worst specifications for each.
Most importantly, he also gives his ‘market price’ – based, he says, on a variety of factors, including trade prices and retail asking prices, filtered by his own experience.
This produces an up-to-the-date, realistic asking price for each model… which Car Dealer Magazine feels sure will surprise and tempt a good many car buyers!
For every luxury car dealer, it is essential reading, particularly as the publication contains a wealth of other information about the state of the market.
Sutton wants the new Market Report to be ‘the first of many,’ and tells the industry it can look out for more of the same in the future.
A very smart marketing campaign, and a very glossy, attractive publication to boot – but what do you make of the findings?
