Buyers in big blue ads!

MOTORS.CO.UK is to launch a new ad campaign – featuring competition-winning members of the public.
More than a thousand entries to become the ‘Face of the Big Blue Wheel’ competition were put in, reports Motors.
These comprised a series of regional heats, in shopping centres across the UK. What did entrants have to do? Pose along a 12 foot inflatable big blue wheel…
Katie Armitage, marketing manager at motors.co.uk, said: ‘The response to the competition has been phenomenal.
‘It’s great to see real car buyers in our adverts. Our website enables us to create the real car buying experience online, and we appeal to a wide range of users, each of which are represented in our new advertisements.
‘Through the competition, we have been able to communicate directly with our users, and the new advertising campaign gives us the opportunity to say thank you for their loyalty.’
The 11 regional winners will feature in the ad campaign – which is going to be huge. Motors is part of the 113-strong Northcliffe Media Group.
And how the 11 were pampered: all were given a celebrity-style makeover, prior to a professional photoshoot.
The entire campaign was run to up recognition of Motors’ big blue wheel. ‘By increasing awareness of motors.co.uk with local car buyers,’ said Armitage, ‘we have been able to significantly increase the number of inquiries to local car dealers.’
