Car auction prices rise
February 5th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
PRICES at used car auctions are going up for the first time in 4 months reports one auction house.
Auction4cars says average part-exchange values recorded a 15 percent rise in January compared to the month before.
That equates to an average of over £400 on the price of a motor.
Group disposal manager at Motorpoint, Neil Prescott, said ‘this is really positive news, showing the market is beginning to return to normality after a turbulent 2009.’
In further good news, prices were also revealed to be almost 30 percent higher than January 2009. That’s despite recording several months of falls since September 2009.
The firm is now hopeful that things will continue to calm down and carry on rising in the coming months…
