BCA has just sold a ‘priceless’ Ford Mondeo estate, with a staggering 532,491 miles on the clock!
The silver Ford estate is the highest-mileage car sold by BCA.
Amazingly, it went for £825 – despite there being NO guide price for a car of this age and mileage. Indeed, the closest CAP could offer was £1225, for a 200,000-mile example.
More than two and a half times that meant this Mondeo was ‘exceptional – and certainly not the norm.’
That was the view of UK operations director Simon Henstock.
‘If this car had been offered via any other remarketing channel, it is less
likely that the seller would have seen such a return, as it outperformed all
expectations.
What was key to the result? BCA’s live format, he said. ‘The live competitive bidding that takes place during the auction process is critical to achieving the true worth of any asset, and when the buyers are out in force and demand is high, the results can be spectacular.’
