Bentley’s searches up

Time 9:50 am, January 25, 2013

BENTLEY has seen the biggest increase in searches on Auto Trader, the advertising portal has revealed.

Searches for Bentleys reached six million in 2012 – up 50 per cent on the year before. Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and Aston Martin also did well – up 46, 45 and 42 per cent respectively.

Porsche, Jaguar, Maserati and BMW also saw rises – 40, 35, 34 and 33 per cent – while searches for Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari were up 32 and 31 per cent.

It wasn’t just a selection of manufacturers who saw an increase in searches though: Searches for top marques overall were up 33 per cent on the previous year, reaching 420 million.

The bump in searches, says Auto Trader, demonstrates that despite the economic climate, buyers still flocked to premium models in 2012.

‘There are nearly 30,000 models from these prestigious top marques offered by Auto Trader and the economic uncertainty doesn’t seem to have affected the growing interest in these cars,’ said Nathan Coe, group director of Auto Trader.

‘Auto Trader is recognised as the undisputed marketplace of choice for dealers and consumers alike and its strength and influence in the higher value segments provide dealers with the largest audience for their cars and provide buyers with the widest choice.’
