BEN fundraising strike
August 27th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
EURO Car Parts is helping raise vital funds for BEN, and has just handed over the first cheque at Birmingham City FC.
The aftermarket parts supplier is now a sponsor of the football club, as well as a BEN benefactor.
That’s why a special cheque was handed over at a presentation within St. Andrews.
The firm has been actively fundraising for BEN, by encouraging staff to think of money-generating schemes. Firm director Donna West handed over the cheque to BEN’s Charles Davis, and explained it won’t be the first such handover.
‘Each new branch that opens is tasked with their own BEN challenge,’ she said.
And, come the end of the year, there will be an added boost! ‘At the end of the year, the final amount raised will be matched by the owner of ECP, Sukhpal Singh.
‘Hopefully, ECP and our customers may never need BEN’s assistance, but it is vital that they know BEN is there for them whenever needed.’
It’s really helping BEN through tough times, explained Davis. ‘In such a climate, the industry is hard-pressed to maintain its financial contributions to BEN.
‘Yet, it is at times like these that more colleagues from across all sectors within the industry need our help.
‘I am delighted to receive a cheque from ECP, and I am also encouraged that the support for BEN is being filtered throughout ECP – and that all staff will help to raise money for their charity.’
