BCA’s 7 day pricing

Time 6:48 am, January 16, 2009

BCA rolls out 7 day pricingPRICE movements changing at an unprecedented daily rate have led BCA to enhance its Auction View service.

The system now includes 7-day prices, as well as the existing 30-day composite prices, so dealers can see what buyers are actually paying for cars.

These are listed after just a single vehicle sale. When there are more sales, prices are aggregated. This provides useful up-to-the-minute pricing data, alongside the existing rolling 30-day composite prices.

It now means over 6,000 real prices now logged on Auction View, representing around 50,000 individual vehicles.

It gives dealers the chance to track price movements over the monthly period, with a composite 30-day price and a snapshot seven-day value.

And the benefits for lower-volume models. Here dealers will see genuine price data that has not previously been available. Models such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Noble and Maserati now regularly appear.

BCA’s communications director Tony Gannon said: ‘By adding 7-day values, Auction View now delivers an even more powerful pricing tool for used vehicle market professionals, with comprehensive auction values and mileage-adjusted CAP and Glass’s Guide comparisons.’

Stats reveal that up to 340,000 Auction View pages are viewed daily. Visitors view on average circa 30 pages per visit, and around 85 per cent of users visit more than once every day.
