Bargain hunters in force
January 4th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
CAR dealers report car buyers keen to grab a bargain motor are ALREADY hitting car showrooms.
Carcraft is one retailer which reports a ‘record number’ of visitors since doors opened on Boxing Day.
Director Mike Walsh said ‘despite some initial gloomy retail predictions for the Christmas and New Year period, customers are proving that they are still in the market for a great deal.
‘It’s encouraging to see that our showrooms continue to attract more visitors year on year as we begin 2010.’
The used car chain is currently promoting its Big Sale, which runs until the end of January. But service centres are also doing good business, adds Walsh: this has been reinforced by a New Year offer, giving a free MOT when an interim service is booked.
However, it’s on the showroom floor where the most revealing trend is occurring: ‘With the current big freeze across the country, 4x4s are proving to be extremely popular!’
Has your car dealership started 2010 in a similarly encouraging manner?
