BANGERS4BEN prize frontrunners for best-dressed crew are Team Honda, seems the general consensus of the rally.
Sorry, make that Team Impossible Dream Honda.
Seen the ad? If you haven’t we’ve included a video below. The actor in this has clearly roped in his brothers and sisters to compete in the Bangers4BEN rally this year.
It’s been an eventful few days for the two Honda cars – a 1989 Prelude and a 1994 Civic. Not because of mechanical maladies, of course. As the team points out, they’re, well, Hondas.
Indeed the closest they got to drama was the Civic not starting this morning. Shock? No: a stray Dr Pepper bottle had knocked the auto-shifter into Drive.
Rather, it was the exploits of the team that have caused a stir. Chiefly, the swimming of two team members in celebration of hitting John O’Groats. Yep: James’ blog yesterday has the full video evidence of the insanity..!
The team have also visited a parental home for tea and sandwiches, filled up with fuel at 350 miles despite the gauge reading ‘nowhere near empty’, and enjoyed Scottish sunsets with Bittersweet Symphony on full blast.
Note, not a single car-related drama. Probably explains why, ooh, half the car field is actually Japanese?
For music fans, the most disturbing tales from Team Impossible Dream concern their overall music choice. See, the Civic only has a tape player. So, it’s back to digging out cassettes, from when they were the music format of choice.
