ATA hits 20k mark

IMI officials have announced the 20,000th ATA accredited vehicle technician has been appointed after 5 years’ operation.
This is helping the car repair industry overcome a lack of consumer confidence in it.
Bromley Kwik-Fit’s Doug Creed is the technician who’s hit the landmark figure, but is just 1 of 10 technicians who earn accreditation each day.
‘The accreditation is great, because it means I’m up always to speed with changes in this fast-moving industry,’ said Creed.
‘It’s easy to see why Kwik-Fit supports the ATA scheme, and I’m pleased to have helped it grow so quickly.’
Sarah Sillars OBE, Executive Chair of the IMI, which administers the ATA scheme, said ‘to reach 20,000 accredited technicians in such a short amount of time… is an incredible achievement.
‘The success of the scheme shows there is a real demand from consumers to know how to find technicians that can get the job done – properly and honestly,’ added Sillars.
