Seward attracts buyers

Time 12:00 pm, March 16, 2012

SOURCES close to the administration of Seward (Wessex) Ltd have confirmed there are several interested parties.

Car Dealer has been told that although the business is still for sale, offers are slowly being whittled down and one preferred bidder has emerged.

Although the details of that party have not yet been released, our source said a sale is likely to take place soon.

Seward (Wessex) Ltd was placed in administration in February, with the administrators Smith & Williamson appointed.

The group holds Vauxhall and Chevrolet dealerships in locations across Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Blandford Forum as well as two Hyundai and one MG franchise – but the group’s two Hyundai sites are unaffected as are Seward Accident Repair centres.

However, the administrators had ‘no choice’ but to close Seward (Wessex) Ltd parts centre earlier this month with 26 employees made redundant, and 12 redeployed.
