NEIL Hayes is a dealer with a difference.
Heading up the sales team at Ron Brooks Toyota, he’s set himself the aim of raising vital funds for automotive charity BEN – by donating £5 for every new and used car he sells.
And, since April this year, he’s been true to his word and accumulated a grand total of £675!
But that’s not grand enough for Hayes. He has a four-figure target in mind. By April 2009, the charitable dealer aims to have raised £1000.
It was all inspired by a visit from BEN’s Helen Lace, he told Car Dealer. ‘After Helen’s presentation, I instantly felt compelled to assist.’
He’s stayed true to his word, too – despite, as he explained, ‘the phrase ‘credit crunch’ coming out of nowhere in May this year.
‘Sales have become increasingly difficult. Subsequently fewer cars are
being sold – but I’m soldiering on.’
Indeed, he’s even been going without a celebratory bottle of wine for each sale, in order to keep up his £5 pledge.
Quite simply, it’s something that we can’t praise highly enough here at Car Dealer. Good on you, Neil!
