4x4s back in fashion

MOTORPOINT says demand for 4x4s and SUVs has ‘soared’ over the past month, defying national trends.
SMMT figures indicate 4×4 sales have declined sharply…
… but Motorpoint can’t get enough of them! Which has led the car dealer to call them this summer’s ‘must have’ item.
‘The 4 x 4 is definitely back with a vengeance,’ said Motorpoint director Paul Winfield.
‘Despite the Government’s attempts to tax such vehicles of the road through additional fuel duty and road tax hikes, the 4 x 4 has never represented better value for money, and drivers are responding accordingly.’
Special deals help; Motorpoint is retaining 09-plate Chevrolet Captivas for £11,999, and 08-plate Dodge Nitros for £10,999.
‘Motorpoint believes that far from becoming obsolete, the 4×4 remains extremely relevant,’ added Winfield.
They ‘will continue to prove popular for the foreseeable future.’
