Vauxhall lifetime deal
August 5th, 2010 by Richard Aucock
VAUXHALL has launched a lifetime warranty deal on all new cars sold through its car dealer network from now.
The new car warranty removes any ‘total years’ stipulation.
This means the warranty is potentially better even than Kia’s market-leading 7 year warranty.
However, there are some notable clauses with the Vauxhall scheme. It is only valid up to 100,000 miles.
Furthermore, it only applies to the original owner of the car. once the car is sold, the lifetime warranty element ends.
The firm is, however, investigating a scheme whereby the car’s second owner can buy a lifetime warranty.
Owners must annually visit a Vauxhall dealer for a free inspection. While this is not a Vauxhall-only service demand, it does offer retails a service and aftersales opportunity.
‘With the Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty, we are making a strong statement of confidence in the quality of our products and a clear intent to provide the very best customer service in the UK,’ said Duncan Aldred, MD of Vauxhall Motors.
‘A lifetime warranty, with its boost to the customer ownership experience, is a natural extension to the appeal of our products.’
