24.04.09: Kia makes BBC news!
April 24th, 2009 by Richard Aucock
KIA’s amazing scrappage-inspired deal on a new Picanto city car proves the benefits of being first out of the traps.
A ‘new’ list price of £4195 is so incredibly on message, it’s untrue. And, as reward, the brand (and car) has appeared on BBC lunchtime news!
The Beeb were on the blower first thing this morning, a source at Kia has just revealed. What’s more, they said that while they were filming, a chap walked in and, on the spot, chopped in his 16 year old Metro!
Anecdotal evidence indeed that maybe, just maybe, this scheme could give the nation’s car dealers just the positive buzz they’re looking for.
Indeed, just a few hours after revealing the £4195 Picanto, Kia has taken hundreds of orders. Yes, that’s orders!
Immediate word from the shop floor thus seems more than positive… we’re going to watch this one with real interest, to see if this positive buzz spreads.
Be sure to let us know how the scrap scheme is working for you – now!
