10 plate reg out today

10 series new car registrations have been rolling out of new car dealer showrooms today with a big drive from dealers.
The new style of car registration continues the series of plate introduced in 2001.
The DVLA has already indicated that the new plates offer many extra opportunities for personalisation – 9000 personal plates have been sold since 1 December!
There will be more change later this year, when the new 60 series replaces the 50 series used for the first decade of the millennium.
Never one to miss an opportunity, the DVLA has pointed out Renault Clio owners (and car dealers) have been particularly struck by the personalisation opportunities.
One dealership in particular, Mackie Motors Renault of Brechin, north east Scotland, seized the moment and bought 3 ‘CL10′ plates – CL10 YOU, CL10 MEE, CL10 NOW – for its fleet of courtesy cars.
Ryan Urquhart, Mackie Motors’ sales manager, said: ‘Private plates are a great way of personalising a car and thanks to the 10 series, for us, spelling out Clio is easy.’
