1 in 4 dealers use Glass’s Guide Online

April 20th, 2010 by Richard Aucock

1-in-4-dealers-use-glasse28099s-guide-onlineGLASS’S is responding to car dealers snubbing paper Guides for online values with an enhanced internet valuation tool.

GlassNet Unlimited launches this month, which will allow limitless car valuations without racking up the bills.

Cost? £1 a day for the typical user, reckons Glass’s – which adds the more cars a dealer values using it, the better value it becomes.

It’s a fast expansion of the service that was only launched 6 months ago, says Glass’s dealer sector director, Vik Barodia. ‘Ease of use and accuracy are critical factors driving this shift to web-based used car valuation, especially now that VRM-powered valuations are more readily available.

‘GlassNet offers the simplest method for quickly generating an accurate and tailored valuation for a specific vehicle, and an ever-growing number of dealers are now adopting this new method for valuing cars.’

Seeing as Glass’s supplies more than 90 percent of ALL the UK’s car dealers with valuation data, it’s clear to see that much more growth should be predicted for the coming months.

Mind you, the firm adds, given how it covers 95 percent of the UK’s used vehicle parc, the move online is perhaps inevitable.

See, Glass’s actually has 50 percent more data than it can physically fit into the paper guides!

Have you switched from paper valuation guides to online tools?
