Bangers4BEN is off!

BANGERS, frost, fog and a fair few fuggy heads broke the peace of icy Sunninghill this morning: Bangers4BEN is go!
Teams gathered for the air-horn start at the remarkable HQ BEN does its fine work from, for quick role-calls and photo-calls, before setting off for Up North.
It really was a remarkable collection of cars that was worth, literally, hundreds of pounds. Pieces of engineering included:
• K-reg Ford Mondeo Si
• Toyota Avensis
• Honda Prelude
• Rover 400
• Toyota Avensis
• B-reg Land Rover
• Honda Civic
• Rover Sterling
• Toyota Carina E (the predecessor to the Avensis)
• Rolls-Royce*
Yes, an awe-inspiring collection of cars, that truly roused the crowds to, at times, outpourings of emotion and many impromptu rounds of applause.
OK, it didn’t quite, but our motley crew was impressive all the same. Everyone is now en route, some even with plans in mind, but all with the same intent. To get to Leeds to meet with our photographer.
That’s challenge 1. Then, to John O’Groats. Then, back again. Erk…
