Bangers4BEN is on the road
BANGERS4BEN is well underway, and all of the crews are reporting good news back to base.
Indeed, most of our intrepid Bangers4BEN entrants are now at the hotel, it seems.
And what a journey it’s been for some!
TomHyundai has a car heater stuck on full. Good for Scotland? Not when you’ve a car full of macaroons. They’re melting, came the cry. We don’t think it’s a euphemism.

GRSWhereToMate is suffering a loss of, well, civilisation. No lights other than the car’s, no people, no mobile reception – not even any radio reception! Spooky stuff.
Poole_audi sounds a bit hysterical – they say the rally is GREAT! But admitted that if they have any more Red Bull, they’ll be growing extra limbs. Never mind wings…
Paul_gforces confirmed a Car Dealer Magazine prediction – that the Suzuki Grand Vitara V6 would be a ‘bit juicy’. Stopped off again, by all accounts…
Green_Machine, meanwhile, preferred to stop for sustenance of a different kind: fish and chips, under the Forth Rail bridge. Delicious.
CarDealerEd preferred chips of a different kind. Burger King for dinner, then – perfect for easing the hunger that they’d been suffering for hours, and helping the 150 miles to the hotel.
ToyotaPR had to miss out. ‘Mum’s homemade steak pie just 15 miles to the east,’ he reported a while back, ‘but no time!’
GarethHondaEU, meanwhile, is busily showing the efficiency of Honda’s 1990s supremacy. First fuel stop was at 352 miles, he reported – in Scotland! ‘We weren’t near empty.’
