05.11.09: October new car sales drama!

09.27: NEW car sales for October are currently under review – because the SMMT data shows NO sales for Toyota!
The official spreadsheet released by the SMMT shows not a single registration for the Japanese brand.
It is not yet clear whether this will lead to a change in the total registrations for October…
… nor whether the top 10 best sellers list Car Dealer Magazine has already published will change.

09.32 EDIT: The SMMT has just confirmed that all are figures are indeed absolutely correct. Our ongoing analysis of the monthly sales splits will restart, with the new data – come back soon for news on which makers have done best!
09.43 EDIT 2: The SMMT has just released a correction, stating that an extra line was increased after Opel in the official spreadsheet, leading to the discrepancy. No other data has been affected though, it has confirmed. Phew! Welcome to Car Dealer Magazine’s world…
09.53 EDIT 3: All correct data is now up. Complete fairness to the SMMT – this sort of thing very rarely happens, and it was corrected literally within minutes when the problem was realised.
How ironic, though, pointed out James, that it should be Opel of all makers causing the gremlins…
